Career Website Redesign
Problem
Arista Networks is in the process of upgrading the existing recruitment website and utilizing it to attract more talent for expanding the workforce. The existing recruitment website lacks a clear information structure and has an excessive amount of pages. In addition, the look and feel (colours, images and layout) of the website do not convey a friendly and organic personality. The top concern with the existing website is that the recruitment team is not getting enough college applications.
Outcomes
Phase 1: Conducted primary research with Arista’s employees (full-time and interns). Gathered valuable insights that guide website redesign.
Phase 2: Conducted competitive analysis of potential competitive recruitment websites (Facebook, Google, YouTube recruitment websites, etc). Analyzed strengths and weaknesses across all the websites. Delivered a research report to the Arista Recruitment team.
Phase 3: Redesigned Arista’s recruitment website by organizing the information structure, and creating new visuals. Delivered a sitemap, high fidelity mockups, a prototype, and design specifications for engineers.
Sitemap
The site structures the information into five primary pages: “Home”, “Jobs“, “Students“, “Hiring Process“, “Office Locations“ and “Contact Us“. This architectural decision had a major impact on the quality of the discoverability of useful information.
Home Page
The home page serves as an introduction to the company’s teams. The page highlights Arista’s fun events, perks and benefits.
Students Page
The student page was one of the most important pages as the Arista Recruitment team was looking to attract more college students. The page includes four areas ( “1:1 Mentorship”, “Fun Events”, “Return Offer” and “Real World Projects”) that students are most interested to learn about before applying for an internship at Arista.
Hiring Process Page
The Hiring Process Page was one of the most demanding pages to have. A lot of users were looking to know about Arista’s hiring process. The page describes the hiring process from the first step to the last step. The page also includes “Frequently Asked Questions“ that we identified during our user research.
Job Search Page
The job search page has different filters that allow users to filter out information based on their preferences. Users are able to view available jobs, read descriptions, and apply for different roles.
Office Locations Page
Many of the users were interested in knowing the offices’ locations. One of the reasons was to know how long it will take them to commute, and whether they will need to move closer to the office. The page contains all office addresses and an indication of the offices on the map.
Contact Us Page
The Contact Us page is a standard page for all of Arista’s websites. We had to keep all the information the way it is.
